Yes, they are very good guard dogs because of their alert temperaments and the aggression if incited. Pit Bulls make excellent watchdogs. When properly socialized to people, they will protect their territory if necessary. And unlike some breeds that are hardwired to be aggressive before being tamed into submission by their owners, pit bulls need only taming because their natural temperament is mild-mannered and tolerant of strangers…
