Pugs are famously difficult to train. They can be stubborn, at times obstinate, and have a mind of their own.
Pugs are strong-willed creatures who have an opinion about everything. Training should be done in short sessions spaced out throughout the day with plenty of rewards for good behavior/conditioning. It is not uncommon for Pugs to respond poorly or run away if training is forced or taken too far too quickly though, so it’s best to start off slow and build up the time gradually–let the dog make the decisions on when training needs to end! Eventually, you will succeed (but know that if your patience runs out before your Pug does, you may want to consider another pup)…
