Damage to RAM can happen in many, many different ways. There is no guarantee that any machine will have the right parts or the expertise to recover any given amount of data from your damaged RAM chip, which means that it’s generally not worth taking a chance with your computer’s memory. More often than not, the only option you’ll have with a damaged chip is to replace it with an entirely new module- either one of those already installed in your motherboard or one purchased online at retail cost.
While it may be possible for some people to try and repair their memory chips themselves by shopping around for compatible chips, they really need specialized skills and equipment just to do so successfully without corrupting what little memory remains.
