Blue eyes in a Poodle indicate that this dog is not pure-bred. A true poodle must have brownish to hazel eyes and no other color, and cannot be blue-eyed unless it carries the merle gene from somewhere else in its ancestry. But all mixed breeds can have “blue” eye genes from elsewhere.
In order for a Poodle to have blue eyes, the dog would need the Merle gene from another breed of canine carried through its ancestry which would make it genetically a crossbreed or hybrid rather than purely a poodle…
