Pugs are small, yet sturdy dogs that have dense coats filled with natural oils that coat the hair shaft so water doesn’t seep in. This allows pugs to live among extensive waterways without being harmed by their presence, but it also means they do not swim well. Occasionally a little one might manage to take a plunge or two, but since these aquatic endeavors don’t come naturally to them it’s always best to watch out for them!
