To answer more succinctly, the short answer is no, Apple’s cd drive will not work on PCs without additional measures. If you’re interested in CD emulation, for this reason, there are also free software packages available. I recommend Daemon Tools Lite or Alcohol 120%. However, if burning more than one disk and alternating between them is important to you (like holding files and data on one disc and music on another), you’ll need a standard UDF reader/writer like Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Platinum Edition.
