Apricots are a fruit, so people eat them. Besides being an excellent source of antioxidants and phytochemicals, apricots have low calories and high vitamins A and C. They are also packed with potassium which helps regulate blood pressure. It is helpful to peel off the skin for most fruits, but since apricots are really soft they can be more difficult to peel if they’re not ripe. To tell when they’re ripe enough to eat, shake the tree – listen for balanced knocking or hitting against objects that you couldn’t hear earlier! If there’s nothing happening then slowly move on up the tree until you hear it work its way down towards you.
