There are three theories about how chihuahuas were bred. Some people think the breed was developed when Spaniards brought the “Techichi” dog with them to Mexico and bred it with native canines. Another theory is that they were bred in China and later exported to Europe, and another is that chihuahuas originated from a cross between New World monkeys and Indian hunting dogs.
