For some, harvesting avocados is an issue because they are never sure if the avocado is ripe. To harvest an avocado it’s important to know that the vegetable doesn’t ripen much after harvesting. One way to test for theirs ripeness is feeling for give when pressing on the skin. Once pressed, check inside the fruit by running your finger around it’s perimeter to see if you feel any green spots where the seed has yet to move down into its spot below ground. If you do not feel any green spots but can press through easily with very little resistance then this means your avocado will be ready in a few days or weeks depending on how overripe it may already be now.
