Should Energy Drinks Be Banned?

Energy drinks should not be banned. There is no cause for alarm with respect to adverse health conditions associated with energy drinks.

Research has found that consumption of energy drink is actually associated with an improved level of mental functioning and overall higher performance indicators; it also causes a pronounced decrease in fatigue and improves mood. It’s these beneficial properties that keep caffeine dependence rates at only 2% even though more than 90% of Americans consume caffeine regularly (mostly from coffee). Regardless, it’s always best to use common sense when consuming any form of stimulant products -energy drinks included- and make sure you get enough water before, during, and after consumption. Furthermore, if caffeine does become habit forming for you or you experience signs like insomnia.
