When Did Water Bottles Come Out?

Water bottles are not new inventions. They date back to the Roman Empire when jars of water made from terra-cotta were invented, and it is even thought that Roman generals had them strapped to their belt before going into battle for easy access.

So why do we use plastic water bottles? Plastic is cheap, lightweight, doesn’t break when dropped (which makes it great for sport), and never goes out of style because there are so many colors available in different shapes with different logos on them. And despite decades of research suggesting that chemicals leaching from plastics can interfere with hormone regulation necessary for healthy reproduction in mammals including humans, they still remain one of the most popular consumer products ever made!
