It is possible that Queen Victoria did have a Pom. When she was alive, the breed was called English Toy Terrier. It is not known when the name ‘Pomeranian’ was devised for this breed. At one point in her life, she also had Borzois (see Sultan Bagdady Famiglietti), who looks like Poms except they are bigger with larger ears.
She also had Collies (see Old Yeller) and Greyhounds (a family portrait shows her in A Fleeing Hare) that could be related to Scottish Terriers or Canadian Eskimo Dogs (which look like Poms except they are bigger with more hair)…
