A CD or DVD player can’t read a CD or DVD if it doesn’t have the correct software. Take this opportunity to install the appropriate player by clicking on “Start” and double-clicking “Computer.” Double-click the empty area of the column labeled “DVD/CDROM Drives,” then double click in that box followed by double-clicking “DVD Drive (x:)” for any additional drives present. If there is no such drive, you’ll need to hunt down and install one. Consult an expert if you’re looking for installation help, but be aware that installing the wrong drivers will only make things worse in most cases.
