Without a processor, a modern device can’t do much.
A processor is the brain of the computer and its most important component– without one your laptop would be out of order and your smartphone would be pointless. The story of computing is in some ways the story of how these little electrical circuits– such as transistors and capacitors– got more (or less) complicated, smaller (in size), and faster (in their speed). We’re on the cusp of quantum computing but for now, we need to continue refining what we’ve had for decades.
