Memtest86 is a Linux live CD that you can use to test your machine’s memory. If Memtest86 reports any errors while running on the machine, then your machine may be OK with no additional tests required. Otherwise, continue testing for more errors by repeating the same previous step of trying out Memtest86 for at least 6 hours. If there are no errors during 6 hours of testing then will have found a RAM problem and need to reseat or replace them if the error still persists.
