Yes.
The funny thing is that computers and robots already run much of the world, and we’re all just too lazy to notice. Not only work but our home lives are increasingly dependent on them since they handle everything from controlling our security systems to making sure we never miss a beat in time because of an online grocery delivery service like Fresh Direct or Pea Pod (disclaimer: I love these). We use them for early education with sites like Khan Academy, MIT OpenCourseWare; for entertainment; for medical diagnostic evaluations; etc. Computers will eventually take over the world when humans finally realize that it’s in their best interests to let computers do their jobs better than they can themselves.
