Even when it is below 10, a fruit fly can still produce eggs! However, the breeding season for the fruit fly is from April-September. For this reason, in areas where it’s winter all year long, the population of the flies will be reduced from lack of reproduction during these months. Very few insects can survive freezing weather over time – which should remind us to take care of them inside our homes!
